Camp Bluebird is the first Adult Cancer Camp in America. We were established in 1998 at Sacred Heart Health System, and have been able to help a lot of people in the process. The camp is a three-day, two-night retreat where adults get to sit back, be pampered and become kids again without any worries.
We operate camp twice a year - once in the spring and once in the fall. The camp is staffed completely by volunteers, including several nurses (so that we can handle almost all situations) who give of their time freely to make the most amazing experience happen for our campers.
During camp we have small-group meetings, Doc-in-the-Box, arts and crafts, self-help sessions, pampering sessions (massages, facials, Happy Shots), lots of free time, and best of all is our Thursday night Theme Night.
